maria pestana art gallery online intends to provide a commercial launch of the art works of selected international artists. Our intention is to promote young artists and less well known artists who have been chosen for their technical skills, personality or creative imagination. Also among our compromises is to present the artist to international competitions and prizes.

We offer to collectors personal consultancy services to assist them in developing their collections according to their special interests or in exploring new branches of contemporary art to begin collecting. In addition we firmly believe in promoting the excitement, pleasure and fascination of collecting art to a new generation of collectors and thus we offer advice and guidance all aspects of how to start, build and develop an art collection.

Israel González (Cuba)

The common thread in Israel González's paintings (Cuba) is the ongoing dialogue between the different elements which circulate in his works. The dialogue takes places on a space full of colour that evokes exotic landscapes, his native Cuba. The use of organic and abstract forms in his compositions are arranged by curve lines that extend accross the whole surface of the canvas. The lines in their movements seem to compose a dance, which draws us into these poweful and emotional works.

Israel González (1964) has being awarded in Cuba, Spain and China. He has widely exhibited at different art galleries in Canada, USA, Germany, Spain and Norway, among other countries.

"El hombre como género, la arquitectura, la fauna y la flora, elementos inanimados y comunes, interactúan para dialogar sobre los diferentes soportes pictórico-gráficos que van a sustentar diversos contextos y macro mundos fundamentalmente virtuales, en ocasiones teatrales. Desde mis comienzos artísticos estos elementos de nuestra realidad, toman formas de símbolos que juegan entre sí para dar a cada obra un sentido único. Estos se mueven y toman vida a través de mis pasiones técnicas y experimentales: la línea diversa, las texturas, los colores en ocasiones tropicales y excitantes y en otros sobrios, las superposiciones, las veladuras y atmósferas, que se sumergen en composiciones y estructuras dinámicas (...), [y que] se fusionan para hacer danzar las formas sobre cada soporte, que son reflejos también de un modo de vida."
