maria pestana art gallery online intends to provide a commercial launch of the art works of selected international artists. Our intention is to promote young artists and less well known artists who have been chosen for their technical skills, personality or creative imagination. Also among our compromises is to present the artist to international competitions and prizes.

We offer to collectors personal consultancy services to assist them in developing their collections according to their special interests or in exploring new branches of contemporary art to begin collecting. In addition we firmly believe in promoting the excitement, pleasure and fascination of collecting art to a new generation of collectors and thus we offer advice and guidance all aspects of how to start, build and develop an art collection.

Khalid Mahmood (Bangladesh)

Color as Khalid Mahmood (Bangladesh) states is the media through which emotions can be expressed. Since the emotions are not tangible the artist uses a combination of abstract motifs together with a vibrant use of colour to express them. His compositions are deeply related to the artist's interests but movement is everywhere. His paintings are carefully projected and they seem to be fotograms from a film wich is still going on.

 

Khalid Mahmood has born in Bangladesh (1960) and he has obtained several awards through his career.

"I paint to express the feelings and emotion of my mind which in inside of my heart. The emotion that nobody can see and I do not know the word to express it by language. So color is the media for expressing the feelings which is not really a definite form or shape. Which is really kind of abstracts emotion. So this is the reason my art works became a symbolic and technical with lots of new presentations. And I also feel that as an artist I have responsibility and commitment to my society."
